Nick Emmanwori ruled out of Seahawks’ season opener against Patriots
Seattle safety Nick Emmanwori is inactive against New England as he continues his recovery from reported right-ankle surgery.
Seattle Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori will miss the season opener against the New England Patriots after being listed among the team’s inactives.
Yahoo Sports reported that Emmanwori is returning from arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle in July. He did not take part in the team’s open training-camp practices during his recovery.
The report said Emmanwori initially injured the ankle during the 2025 season opener before aggravating it during a Super Bowl LX practice. His inactive listing applies to the game and does not establish a longer-term prognosis.
Seattle safety Ty Okada is also unavailable with a hamstring injury. The Seahawks’ other inactives are Tory Horton, Jalen Milroe, Beau Stephens, Nick Kallerup and Mike Morris. Milroe is designated as the emergency third quarterback.
New England’s inactives are Ben Brown, Karon Prunty, Erick Hunte, Behren Morton, TreVeyon Henderson, Walter Rouse and Efton Chism III. Morton will serve as the Patriots’ emergency third quarterback.
