The National Football League has officially detailed the framework for its 2026 season, confirming a total of 272 games across all 32 teams. Although the comprehensive calendar with specific dates and kick-off times remains pending until later in the month, the league's scheduling formula has allowed for the identification of every opponent for each club. This structural approach, originally implemented in 2002 and revised in 2021 to accommodate the addition of a 17th regular-season game, dictates that every team will play its own games, division rivals, and inter-conference opponents in a specific rotation.
A significant element of the upcoming season is the expansion of international fixtures, marking a continued push by the NFL to globalise its product. The Los Angeles Rams have been confirmed to play a match in Australia, while the Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons are set to host international games.
