Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said one pilot on a Flydubai flight bound for Israel stabbed the second pilot, and that passengers and crew foiled an apparent attempt to crash the aircraft.

CNBC reported Netanyahu’s account on Thursday. The supplied report does not independently confirm the alleged crash attempt or give details about what happened in the cockpit.

The flight was identified in background reporting as FZ1073, travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv. It diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, on 30 September.

Flydubai reported an altercation in the flight deck and said passengers were safe and accounted for. Background reports said passengers later reached Tel Aviv on a replacement aircraft.

The available material does not establish a motive or provide a full account of the incident.
