Navan has announced it will acquire BoomPop, an artificial intelligence-powered meetings and events platform, as it expands beyond travel and expense management. The announcement followed a strong second quarter of fiscal 2027, according to Yahoo Finance.

BoomPop, launched in 2023, provides end-to-end event management covering venue selection, vendor sourcing, contracts and payments. Navan said it intends to integrate BoomPop’s staff and technology into its meetings and events operations.

The proposed combination is designed to bring travel, expense, meetings and events services together on a single platform. Navan said it expects no significant effect on its guidance, although the source did not provide a purchase price, transaction structure or closing date.

Navan reported adjusted net income of US$14 million in the second quarter, compared with an US$8 million loss a year earlier. Subscription revenue increased 39 per cent year on year, while usage revenue rose 35 per cent.

BoomPop says its events have reached roughly 250,000 participants and that it has reduced booking expenses by nearly 30 per cent on average. Those figures are company claims and were not independently verified in the source.

The acquisition would add to Navan’s recent integration activity, which includes Smartrips, Comtravo, Reed & Mackay and Tripeur. Combining systems, staff and customer operations could create technical, operational and service risks, while unexpected integration costs could affect margins or delay anticipated benefits.
