Meta’s AI agent app Muse has reached No. 2 on the US iOS App Store’s Top Charts after recording more than 83,000 estimated US downloads, according to market-intelligence firm Sensor Tower.

Muse climbed from No. 4 on Wednesday to No. 2 by 10 September. The ranking signals early interest in Meta’s push into consumer-facing agentic artificial intelligence, but the download estimate covers only US iOS users and does not measure active usage.

The app’s launch has been slower than recent debuts by Meta’s other products. Threads recorded more than 4.3 million US downloads on its launch day, while the Meta AI app recorded 108,000. ChatGPT surpassed 500,000 US installs in less than a week after launching in the US.

Muse is also available on Android, the web and through WhatsApp, although those platforms are excluded from Sensor Tower’s estimate. On Google Play, the app ranked No. 338 in the Productivity category; Android download figures were not available.

Meta is positioning Muse as a major bet on AI agents that can carry out tasks on behalf of users. The company is entering a market that includes Google’s Gemini Spark, Anthropic’s Claude Cowork and the text-based agent Instinct.
