Metanet announces N PLUS INFINITY TIMES TWO for 2027 release
The upcoming title introduces five distinct game modes, updated visuals, and a physics system adapted from 3D collision concepts, launching across PC and major consoles next year.

Metanet has officially announced N PLUS INFINITY TIMES TWO, the latest iteration in its acclaimed 2D platforming franchise, with a scheduled release in 2027. Co-founders Mare Sheppard and Raigan Burns revealed the title during the 2026 Day of the Devs summer showcase, positioning the game as a multiplayer parkour experience that retains the series’ signature minimalist aesthetic while introducing updated visual elements such as additional drop shadows and gradient hues.
The game will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2, supporting local and online co-op, single-player modes, and cross-play functionality. N PLUS INFINITY TIMES TWO features five distinct game modes: Trials, Co-op, Racing, One-up, and Team Tag. While Trials and Co-op have been polished for modern sensibilities, the title introduces two new modes. One-up draws inspiration from American Ninja Warrior, while Team Tag is described by the developers as a two-on-two battle where Ninjas attempt to collect gold while evading Hunters.
Racing mode has been revamped into what Metanet describes as a faster version of Fall Guys, involving trap-setting, ammo collection, and a bazooka feature at the finish line. Team Tag is highlighted as a central feature of the release, with teams taking turns playing as either Ninjas or Hunters, the latter of whom can transform into rockets to catch their opponents.
Technically, the game utilises 256x anti-aliasing and sub-pixel movement tracking to ensure slick animations and reactive avatars. The movement system relies on a circular hitbox, a design choice adapted from a 3D collision concept originally used in Halo by Bungie. This approach allows the avatar to fall, lean, and graze corners with a precision that distinguishes the series from other 2D platformers.
The soundtrack features approximately 60 artists hand-selected by the development team via Bandcamp. The music is largely inspired by UK garage and electronic music from the 2020s, ranging from flowy dreamscapes to intense breakbeats. The announcement follows a period of activity for the studio, which released Ten++, a free update for the previous entry, in October of the prior year.
