The first-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses drop to $224.25, while the newer model hits a new low of $322.25 as Meta capitalises on broader market enthusiasm for artificial intelligence.

Meta has initiated its most significant promotional event outside of the Black Friday period, offering record-low prices on both generations of its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. The first-generation model is now available from $224.25, representing a $74 discount that matches its best price to date. Simultaneously, the second-generation model has reached a new low of $322.25, marking a $57 reduction from its previous lowest point.
The promotion, which runs through May 26, is accessible via Amazon, Best Buy, and Meta’s direct sales channels. This retail activity occurs against a backdrop of broader market enthusiasm for artificial intelligence, evidenced by Cerebras Systems’ recent Nasdaq debut and its market capitalisation exceeding $100 billion, indicating a sustained bull market for AI-related silicon and technology.
Both generations of the smart glasses are designed to resemble standard Ray-Ban frames while delivering integrated smart functionality. Users can capture hands-free 1080p photos and short videos, as well as livestream directly to Instagram or Facebook. The devices also function as open-ear headphones, utilising a five-microphone array to facilitate clear voice calls while allowing wearers to remain aware of their surroundings.
Meta’s built-in AI assistant provides real-time translation for Spanish, French, and Italian, alongside features for landmark identification and recipe brainstorming based on available ingredients. The second-generation model distinguishes itself with sharper 3K video recording at 30 frames per second, an improvement over the first generation’s 1440 x 1920 resolution. Additionally, the newer iteration offers up to eight hours of battery life under heavy use, doubling the endurance of the original model.
The discounting strategy underscores Meta’s continued push into the wearable technology sector, leveraging the current AI market momentum to drive consumer adoption. By lowering the entry price for both legacy and current hardware, the company aims to broaden its user base for its AI-driven ecosystem before the summer season concludes.
