McBride’s Record-Breaking Performance Clinches Lynx Playoff Berth

Shooting 10 of 14 from behind the arc, McBride finished with a career-high 43 points, contributing to the Lynx’s 12th win in their last 13 games. This victory secured the Lynx’s first playoff berth of the season, improving their record to 27-7.
The record-breaking three-pointer was made with 2:23 remaining in the game, extending the Lynx’s lead to 98-83. McBride was substituted out with 1:21 remaining to receive a standing ovation from the Target Center crowd. She shot 7-of-7 on contested field goals for 18 points and connected on 8-of-9 shots off passes from rookie Olivia Miles, who recorded 13 assists.
The Lynx finished 18-of-39 from three-point range, breaking their own franchise single-game three-point record. This performance marks the third-highest point total in Lynx franchise history for McBride. The previous record of nine three-pointers in a game had been achieved eight times previously, including twice this season by Toronto’s Marina Mabrey and twice by Atlanta’s Rhyne Howard.
McBride, a five-time All-Star and four-time EuroLeague champion, has played for the Lynx for five and a half seasons. She returned to the team in the offseason after a 13-year WNBA career. The Lynx have been on a significant offensive run, scoring over 100 points in four of their past six games, including a recent victory over defending champion Las Vegas.
