Is your Porsche Taycan too slow at the Nürbugring? You need this Manthey Kit.
Nordschleife specialist restores electric vehicle record with aerodynamic and powertrain enhancements.

Nordschleife specialist Manthey Racing has released a dedicated track upgrade kit for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, specifically engineered for vehicles already equipped with the factory Weissach Package. The modification targets the electric vehicle's performance ceiling, enabling Porsche factory driver Lars Kern to set a new Nürburgring lap time of 6:55.553. This achievement reclaims the electric vehicle record previously held by the BYD Yangwang U9, which had posted a time of 6:59.157 in late 2025.

The upgrade package delivers significant gains in electrical capacity and power output. By increasing the maximum current to 1,300 A, the kit raises nominal power to 804 hp and peak torque to 936 lb-ft. An 'Attack mode', derived from Formula E technology, further boosts power to 978 hp for ten-second bursts. While total launch control power remains unchanged at 1,019 hp, the peak torque figure in this mode increases by 22 lb-ft compared to the Weissach Package alone.

Aerodynamic enhancements form a critical component of the performance improvements. The kit incorporates new body extensions, louvres on the front wheel arches, a larger rear wing, new underbody diffusers, and aerodisc rear wheels. These changes result in a substantial increase in downforce; at 124 mph, the figure rises from 209 lbs to 638 lbs, while at top speed of 192 mph, it reaches 1,631 lbs. The downforce levels are also tunable to optimise the car for different track conditions.

Chassis and braking systems have been reinforced to handle the increased performance. The vehicle is fitted with bigger friction brakes and high-performance pads, while driving dynamics are honed through an updated setup that utilises active ride suspension and rear axle steering. The base requirement for the kit remains the Weissach Package, which already reduces weight by removing the second charge port and rear speakers.

Porsche factory driver Lars Kern attributed the record-breaking lap to the combination of improved aerodynamics, higher available overboost power, and further improved tires. Kern noted that the kit transforms the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package into the ultimate track tool, providing stability and confidence in fast sections and during braking. The base Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package starts at $243,700, with pricing for the full Manthey Kit to be announced later.
