M-Audio Targets Budget Podcasting Market with $200 M Track Duo HD Bundle

M-Audio has released the M Track Duo HD Producer Pack, an all-in-one audio recording bundle priced at $200. The package is designed to provide an affordable entry point for podcasters and content creators, offering sufficient gain and functionality for clear audio capture without requiring expensive additional equipment. The kit includes a two-channel class-compliant audio interface, an M100 condenser microphone, HD41 headphones, a mic clip, a USB-C cable, and an XLR cable.
The release coincides with a shift in the content industry towards video. Research indicates that 71 per cent of podcasts in 2025 included a video component, highlighting the importance of high-quality audio to retain viewers. M-Audio’s offering targets the saturated sub-$200 market segment established by the widespread adoption of class-compliant interfaces in the early 2010s, a period that saw a proliferation of affordable recording gear.
The included audio interface features two combo XLR quarter-inch input jacks with separate line and instrument level impedance selectors, a 48-volt phantom power switch, and a single quarter-inch TRS headphone jack. Each channel on the interface provides 55 dB of gain, with indicator lights that flash white for signal presence and red for clipping. The interface’s gain knobs exhibit some ambient digital noise in the final 10 per cent of their sweep, though this is considered manageable for most users.
The M100 microphone is a unipolar large-diaphragm condenser mic, which is noted to be sensitive to ambient noise but effective for standard male speaking voices when positioned approximately 6 inches from the mouth. The mic lacks a high-pass filter, requiring users to manage low-end rumble manually or via software. The HD41 headphones are described as offering above-average comfort and sound quality for the price, with a dedicated volume knob on the interface.
M-Audio is a legacy brand known for budget recording gear, with its earlier Fast Track series being popular among bedroom artists before the term gained mainstream aesthetic status. Previous iterations of M-Audio’s Fast Track Pro are still functional on many pre-2019 computers, underscoring the brand's history of durable, affordable hardware. The new bundle aims to provide a tidy solution for users seeking to enter the digital creator space without significant capital outlay.
