LSU Lists Sam Leavitt as Doubtful for Ole Miss Rivalry Game

LSU has listed starting quarterback Sam Leavitt as doubtful for Saturday’s rivalry game at Ole Miss, introducing uncertainty over the team’s most important position before the contest.

The designation appeared on LSU’s availability report on Wednesday night. Under Southeastern Conference policy, “doubtful” means a player is unlikely to play, with an estimated 25 per cent chance of taking the field.

LSU has not disclosed the nature or severity of Leavitt’s injury. He completed last week’s 45–14 win over Louisiana Tech, but threw three interceptions in the victory.

Husan Longstreet and Landen Clark are LSU’s primary quarterback backups. Clark has appeared in two games, while Longstreet has one pass attempt, according to ESPN.

Linebacker TJ Dottery, who leads LSU in tackles, was also listed on the report as questionable. ESPN reported that Leavitt joined LSU after two seasons as a starter at Arizona State.
