LSU enters Coaches Poll top 10 as Michigan drops to No. 24
LSU climbed to No. 8 after defeating Clemson 51–10, while Michigan fell eight places despite a 13–12 win over Western Michigan.
LSU has moved into the top 10 of the Week 2 Coaches Poll after its 51–10 victory over Clemson, rising five places to No. 8.
Michigan fell eight places to No. 24 despite beating Western Michigan 13–12. The Wolverines remain in the poll ahead of their scheduled Week 2 matchup with Oklahoma.
Oregon recorded the largest drop among the top 10, falling four places to No. 6 after a 34–27 win over Boise State. The Ducks received one first-place vote, down from six in the preseason poll.
Clemson was the only team to fall out of the poll. LSU’s rise also pushed Ole Miss from No. 10 to No. 11, while Texas A&M and Oklahoma each moved down one place.
Ohio State retained the top position after defeating Ball State, while Texas rose to No. 3 after beating Texas State. Their Week 2 meeting will be a matchup between the teams ranked No. 1 and No. 3 in the Coaches Poll, according to CBS Sports.
