Louisville Kings secure UFL Championship berth with victory over St. Louis
Former NFL quarterback Chris Redman’s side utilises four-point field goals and late defensive stand to advance to the final in Washington.

The Louisville Kings have advanced to the United Football League Championship after defeating the St. Louis Battlehawks 29-20 in their inaugural season. The victory secures a place in the title match against the D.C. Defenders, scheduled for Saturday in Washington.
Kicker Tanner Brown was instrumental in the result, contributing eight points through two four-point field goals. Brown connected on a 60-yard attempt in the first quarter and capped the scoring with a 63-yarder in the final period. The UFL’s distinct scoring structure allows for these longer field goal attempts, which proved decisive in the Kings’ offensive output.
St. Louis retained a narrow path to victory until the final minute, utilising the league’s three-point conversion option. The Battlehawks drove into position to attempt a touchdown, but their hopes were extinguished when Steele Chambers intercepted a pass from quarterback Luis Perez in the end zone with less than a minute remaining.
Louisville is guided by head coach Chris Redman, a former NFL quarterback with nine years of playing experience. The Battlehawks, meanwhile, are under the direction of Ricky Proehl, a former NFL receiver who won a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams in 1999. Proehl took over the team this year following the departure of Athony Becht, who became the head coach of the Orlando Storm.
Tensions flared briefly after the final whistle, with a scuffle involving players from both teams. Cameras captured only the periphery of the incident, and Redman instructed his players to disperse immediately to ensure they remained focused on the upcoming championship fixture.
