LG Unveils 2026 Gram Laptop Lineup Featuring Proprietary Aerominum Alloy

LG has officially launched its 2026 Gram laptop series, marking the first time the company has provided confirmed pricing and availability for the updated range. The new lineup, which includes the Gram Book, Gram, and Gram Pro models, is now available to order via LG's website and select retail partners. Prices for the series commence at $1,150 for the base Gram Book configuration.

The defining characteristic of this year's release is the introduction of Aerominum, a proprietary aluminium-magnesium alloy developed by the manufacturer. While the material was previously highlighted during CES 2026, the official launch confirms its role in achieving a unique balance of extreme lightness and structural integrity. LG states that the alloy enhances rigidity and scratch resistance without adding significant weight, with the 16-inch Gram Pro reportedly weighing similarly to a 13-inch MacBook Air despite its larger form factor.

Durability remains a central selling point for the majority of the new models, which carry military-grade certification. This robustness is intended to withstand the rigours of daily use, distinguishing the devices in a competitive market. The Gram Book is the sole exception to this standard, though it retains the lightweight design philosophy central to the Gram brand identity.

The pricing structure varies significantly across the different configurations and screen sizes. The entry-level Gram Book 15.6-inch model, powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, starts at $1,150. A larger 16-inch variant of the Gram Book, equipped with a Ryzen AI 7 chip and 32GB of RAM, is priced from $1,500.

Moving up the range, the standard 15.6-inch LG Gram begins at $1,600, featuring a Ryzen AI 7 450 processor and 32GB of RAM. The flagship Gram Pro offers higher specifications, with the 17-inch model starting at $1,650 with an Intel Core Ultra 7 and 16GB of RAM. The 16-inch Gram Pro commands a premium of $2,400, offering a Ryzen AI 7 450, 32GB of RAM, and a 2TB SSD. Additionally, a 16-inch Gram Pro 2-in-1 convertible model is available from $2,200.

Consumers interested in the new hardware can take advantage of a limited-time promotional offer. Until 10 May, LG is providing a one-year Premium Care service plan for just $1 on select models. This service plan is designed to offer extended protection for the investment, though the specific models eligible for the deal are not fully detailed in the initial release.
