Leaked specs point to Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 as thinner, brighter upgrade
New reports suggest the upcoming smartwatch will feature a 12% thinner chassis, an 800 mAh battery, and a display reaching 5,000 nits, powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite chip.
Leaked renderings and technical specifications for the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 have been published by tech tipster Evan Blass, who operates the Substack Leakmail. The disclosure comes just two days before Samsung’s scheduled Galaxy Unpacked event, where the company is expected to officially announce the new device alongside the Galaxy Watch 9.
According to the leaked materials, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is reported to be 12% thinner than its 2025 predecessor. The design also features an upgraded IP69K dust- and water-resistance rating, a step up from the IP68 rating found on the current model. These details align with initial design glimpses provided earlier this month by Android Headlines, though Blass’s post offers new perspectives and specific technical metrics.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, a claim that corroborates earlier leaks regarding the Galaxy Watch 9. This processor is expected to drive performance for both upcoming wearables, which are slated for simultaneous announcement at the upcoming event.
Battery life is also projected to see a significant increase. The leak indicates the new smartwatch will house an 800 mAh battery, a substantial rise from the 590 mAh capacity in the 2025 model. Additionally, the display is reported to reach brightness levels of up to 5,000 nits, a notable improvement over the 3,000 nits offered by the previous generation.
While the specifications provide a detailed look at the hardware, Samsung has not yet officially confirmed these details. Price points for the new devices remain unconfirmed, and the accuracy of the leaked renderings and technical data is not guaranteed until the official launch on Wednesday.
