Korda Claims Maiden US Women's Open Title in Los Angeles
Nelly Korda defeated England’s Charley Hull at the Riviera Country Club to complete a second consecutive victory of the season.

World number one Nelly Korda has secured her maiden US Women's Open title, defeating England’s Charley Hull by a single shot at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles. The victory marks Korda’s fourth major championship and her second consecutive win of the season, following her recent triumph at the Chevron Championship.
Korda finished the tournament at eight under par, posting a final round score of two-under-par 69. Her victory was sealed by a crucial birdie on the 17th hole and a dramatic 34-inch par putt on the 18th, which circled the back lip before dropping into the cup.
Hull, who had trailed by seven strokes at the halfway mark, responded with a four-under-par 67 in the final round. This performance equalled the lowest 36-hole total in US Women's Open history, yet it was not enough to overcome Korda’s lead. Hull finished at seven under par, extending her career tally of major runner-up finishes to five, including four since the start of 2023.
Mexico’s Gaby Lopez tied for second place alongside Hull, while South Korea’s In-Gee Chun finished one shot further back at six under par. Sei-Young Kim, who was level with Korda at the top of the leaderboard after three rounds, finished at five under par. Other notable finishers included K. Romero and N. Hataoka at three under, and M. Stark and J. Kupcho at two under.
Speaking after the tournament, Hull acknowledged the difficulty of the task, noting that she hit the ball well despite missing a couple of putts on the back nine in windy conditions. Korda described the win as a dream come true, highlighting the historical significance of the venue and the honour of having her name alongside previous champions.
