Korda and Cowan form partnership for LPGA event in Michigan
The duo, who previously connected in Portland, are competing in a Ladies Professional Golf Association event in Midland, with Cowan seeking her first career win.

World No. 1 golfer Nelly Korda has partnered with fellow professional Olivia Cowan for a Ladies Professional Golf Association event in Midland, Michigan. The pair are competing together at Midland Country Club following Korda’s recent victory at the 81st U.S. Women’s Open at Riviera Country Club.
Korda, who has lost to only nine players all season, is considered the hottest player in golf and could potentially help Cowan secure a life-changing win this week. Cowan, a 30-year-old German professional who joined the LPGA in 2022, is still seeking her first career victory and is a member of the German national team.
The two golfers previously bonded while paired together in Portland several years ago, connecting over a shared search for good coffee and croissants overseas. Korda described Cowan as her “Legally Blonde” partner, noting that Cowan is the only person who can persuade her to wear all pink.
The duo is currently discussing their walk-up music for the par-3 18th hole on Saturday. Cowan described the selection process as a very serious discussion, highlighting the informal nature of their partnership despite the high stakes of the tournament.
The 81st U.S. Women’s Open is described as the biggest and toughest championship in the game. Korda’s transition from the prestigious Riviera Country Club to the Midwest event marks a swift shift in venue and format for the reigning champion.
