Knicks and Spurs set for Game 2 as series shifts focus to San Antonio
Victor Wembanyama seeks efficiency rebound as Spurs host Game 2 of 2026 NBA Finals

The New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs are preparing for Game 2 of the 2026 NBA Finals at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on Friday, 5 June 2026. The Knicks hold a 1-0 series advantage following their victory in the opening game, where Jalen Brunson scored 30 points to lead a second-half comeback against the Spurs.
Game 2 is scheduled to start at 8:30 pm ET and will be broadcast on ABC, with streaming available on DIRECTV, the ESPN app, and fubo. The Spurs, making their first NBA Finals appearance since 2014, are looking to level the series after defeating the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference finals.
Both teams have confirmed no changes to their starting lineups for the contest. The Knicks’ starting five consists of Jalen Brunson, Bridges, Hart, OG Anunoby, and Karl-Anthony Towns. The Spurs will field their regular starting group, with Victor Wembanyama aiming to improve upon his 6-of-21 shooting performance from Game 1, in which he scored 26 points.
Ahead of the tip-off, Wembanyama was seen taking a shot from 3/4 court, indicating he is locked in for the challenge. A promotional video titled "Chasing History," presented by Michelob ULTRA, has been released to recap the events of Game 1, including Brunson’s 8-0 run in the fourth quarter and the brief halt in play caused by a fan storming the court.
If the Knicks win Game 2, the series will shift to Madison Square Garden. The Knicks secured their initial victory by overcoming a double-digit deficit, with significant support from Towns and Anunoby alongside Brunson’s game-high scoring output despite a brief knee injury.
