Kimberly-Clark set to report Q2 2026 earnings amid cost headwinds and oil price risks
Analysts forecast earnings per share of $2.00, marking a 4.2% increase from the prior year, though the stock has lagged broader market indices over the past 52 weeks.

Kimberly-Clark Corporation is scheduled to announce its fiscal second-quarter 2026 results before the market opens on Tuesday, 4 August. The Dallas-based consumer goods company, which operates in more than 175 countries with a market capitalisation of $35.9 billion, has beaten Wall Street earnings estimates in each of the last four quarters. Analysts predict earnings per share of $2.00 for the current quarter, representing a 4.2% increase from the $1.92 reported in the same period last year.
Despite the company’s consistent ability to exceed expectations, its shares have fallen 15.4% over the past 52 weeks. This performance significantly lags behind the S&P 500 Index’s nearly 19% rise and the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF’s 3.6% gain over the same timeframe. The underperformance comes despite resilient demand for personal care products, evidenced by first-quarter 2026 sales of $4.16 billion, which exceeded estimates and prompted a marginal share price gain on 28 April.
Investors were encouraged by the company’s decision to maintain its full-year 2026 adjusted profit and organic sales growth outlook during the first-quarter report. However, management warned of potential headwinds, noting that sustained oil prices at $100 per barrel could add between $150 million and $170 million in input costs in the second half of the year. Additionally, a fire at a California distribution centre and the ongoing conflict in Iran are expected to result in a $50 million impact on second-quarter results.
For the full fiscal year 2026, analysts forecast an EPS of $7.47, a marginal decline from the $7.53 reported in fiscal 2025. Looking ahead, earnings are expected to rise slightly year-over-year to $7.54 in fiscal 2027. The consensus analyst rating for Kimberly-Clark remains a "Moderate Buy," with an average price target of $115.18, suggesting a potential upside of 5.8% from current levels.
The stock is covered by 16 analysts, with four recommending a "Strong Buy," one a "Moderate Buy," 10 suggesting a "Hold," and one advising a "Strong Sell." The company’s stated purpose of delivering "Better Care for a Better World" continues to underpin its strategy, combining market-leading products with commitments to sustainability and community well-being as it navigates these economic and operational challenges.
