Kia unveils PV7 electric van for passenger and cargo markets
Kia’s second Platform Beyond Vehicle model will offer 71.5kWh and 96.2kWh batteries, with launches planned for Europe and South Korea in the second half of 2027.
Kia has unveiled the PV7, an electric van designed for passenger and cargo use, expanding its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) range. The model is scheduled to launch in Europe and South Korea in the second half of 2027.
The PV7 is about two feet longer than the PV5, Kia’s first PBV electric van, which went on sale in 2025. Both models use Kia’s dedicated PBV architecture, which features a flat floor and is designed to support different body configurations.
Kia will offer the PV7 with 71.5kWh and 96.2kWh battery options. The company claims the Cargo Long-Range version can travel up to 460km under the WLTP test cycle.
An 800-volt electrical system supports 10–80 per cent charging in under 25 minutes when using a 350kW DC fast charger, according to Kia. The van will also include vehicle-to-load outlets for powering external tools and equipment.
The PV7’s infotainment system runs on Kia’s Pleos Connect platform and includes Gleo natural-language voice controls. Pricing, a precise launch date and detailed specifications have not been provided.
Kia has not confirmed whether the PV7 will be sold in the United States. The Verge reported that the company plans additional markets, derivatives and conversion models after the initial launch markets.
