Sport Bild journalist dismisses reports of disagreement; club president confirms new deal on the table

Reports suggesting a fundamental disagreement between Harry Kane and Bayern Munich over the length of a contract extension have been dismissed by Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk. According to Falk, both parties remain aligned but have strategically chosen to postpone negotiations until after the World Cup, allowing the England forward to prioritise his focus on the upcoming tournament and the DFB Pokal final.

The clarification follows earlier speculation that Kane was demanding a deal until 2030 while the club offered only a single year. Falk stated that negotiations had not formally commenced and that the delay was not due to conflict. He indicated that when talks do resume, they are likely to centre on a one-year extension with an option for a second year, rather than a long-term commitment.

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has confirmed that a new contract will be offered to Kane, aiming to alleviate concerns among supporters. Hainer’s statement underscores the club’s intent to retain the striker, whose current deal is set to expire in 2027. The president’s intervention follows Kane’s own comments that he remains relaxed about the timing of the signature, noting he is comfortable signing either before or after the World Cup.

Kane’s recent form has been instrumental in Bayern’s historic domestic double, where he scored a hat-trick in the men’s DFB Pokal final. This achievement, mirroring the women’s squad’s success, marks the first time the club has won the domestic double in both departments. His performance has also earned him WhoScored.com’s Bundesliga Player of the Season award, further cementing his status within the squad.

While the focus remains on Kane’s immediate future, other European transfer developments continue to unfold. AC Milan is reportedly considering the sale of Christian Pulisic to raise funds after missing out on Champions League qualification, while Liverpool has submitted a nine-figure offer for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande. Additionally, Manchester City is in talks with Nottingham Forest regarding midfielder Elliot Anderson, and Liverpool’s Andy Robertson is expected to join Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer.
