Jaguars UDFA profiles: Can WR Alex Bullock make a 53-man roster push?
South Dakota State receiver joins Jacksonville squad following 2026 draft

The Jacksonville Jaguars have finalised their post-draft roster moves by signing 18 undrafted free agents, a cohort that includes wide receiver Alex Bullock from South Dakota State. The announcement follows the conclusion of the 2026 NFL draft, with the club looking to fill depth charts ahead of training camp. Bullock, who previously spent time at Nebraska before transferring, is viewed as a reliable pass-catcher with specific value on special teams.

Bullock enters the NFL following a breakout campaign in 2025, where he was targeted 117 times, the fifth-highest total at the FCS level. He converted those opportunities into 70 receptions for 941 yards and five touchdowns, while being credited with only two drops. His versatility allows him to line up both inside and outside, attributes that the Jaguars will evaluate during the upcoming preseason preparations.

The wide receiver position has become increasingly crowded for Jacksonville following their draft selections of Josh Cameron and CJ Williams. Prior to the draft, the position was considered a potential area for roster openings, but the addition of two draft picks has shifted that assessment. Bullock’s chances of securing a spot on the 53-man roster will now depend heavily on his performance in training camp and the team’s final roster decisions.

One variable that could influence the Jaguars’ roster construction is the potential usage of Travis Hunter. Speculation exists that the team may retain a seventh wide receiver if Hunter utilises a two-way role, which could create an additional opening. Beyond receiving skills, the ability to contribute to the run game and provide special teams coverage are cited as key differentiators for players competing for back-end roster spots.

Bullock’s athletic profile includes a Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 6.58 out of 10.00, a metric that ranks him 1436th out of 4190 wide receivers from 1987 to 2026. While his statistical production at South Dakota State was strong, his transition to the NFL will require him to outperform the competition established by the team’s recent draft acquisitions and existing depth chart.
