Jaguar Land Rover unveils 2027 Range Rover Electric with 333-mile range
The first factory-fitted electric Range Rover enters the market at $138,000, offering 542 horsepower and retaining the brand’s signature off-road capabilities.

Jaguar Land Rover has officially unveiled the 2027 Range Rover Electric, marking the debut of the first fully battery-electric variant of the luxury SUV. The new model sits alongside existing internal combustion and plug-in hybrid versions, offering a starting price of $138,000. This price point is significantly lower than the cost of restomodded electric conversions of classic models, while providing the benefit of modern safety systems and major OEM warranty support.
The vehicle is powered by a 118.5 kWh net battery pack supplied by AESC, which uses a nickel-manganese-cobalt chemistry. Operating on an 800-volt architecture with a double-stack cell arrangement, the pack delivers a claimed real-world range of 333 miles (536 km). The powertrain features identical front and rear permanent-magnet synchronous motors, producing a combined output of 542 hp (404 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque.
Charging infrastructure is a key focus for the new model, which supports 350 kW DC fast charging. This allows the vehicle to recharge from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes, or add 137 miles of range in just 10 minutes. For the US market, the SUV includes a native NACS port with Supercharger access and ISO15118 plug-and-charge support. The vehicle also offers vehicle-to-load functionality, capable of providing up to 3.6 kW of AC power.
Despite the shift to electric propulsion, the Range Rover retains its off-road heritage. The SUV features ground clearance of 10.3 inches (262 mm) and can ford water up to 36 inches (900 mm) deep. The chassis is 56 percent stiffer than the V8 model due to the aluminium battery pack frame, and the centre of gravity is 3.4 inches (85 mm) lower. An integrated torque management system replaces the traditional centre differential, allowing the electronic system to constantly manage front and rear axles based on available grip.
Jaguar Land Rover reports strong initial interest in the model, with 80,000 pre-orders or "hand-raisers" recorded. Half of this interest comes from North America, and 70 percent of the respondents are new to the brand. The company noted that 20 percent of these potential customers already own an electric vehicle, indicating a crossover from the existing EV market.
The interior experience has been refined for comfort and quietness. The Range Rover Electric is 7 decibels quieter than the V8 model, aided by an active noise cancellation system using thin membrane speakers developed with Warwick Audio. A ThermAssist heat management system further optimises efficiency by boosting range by 7 percent and reducing heating energy consumption by 40 percent.
