IPL 2026 Playoffs Schedule Confirmed as Defending Champions RCB Secure Top Spot
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans, and Sunrisers Hyderabad have qualified for the postseason, while the final spot remains open as the league stage concludes.

The Indian Premier League 2026 league stage is reaching its conclusion with three teams having already secured their positions in the postseason. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, along with Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad, have sealed their playoff berths, leaving the race for the fourth and final spot wide open as the final league matches are played.
The official schedule for the knockout stages has been released, commencing on 26 May with Qualifier 1. This match will feature the top two teams in the standings and is scheduled to take place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. The winner of this encounter will advance directly to the final, bypassing the subsequent elimination rounds.
Following the initial qualifier, the tournament action moves to New Chandigarh for the Eliminator on 27 May. This fixture will be held at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. The loser of this match will be eliminated from the tournament, while the victor will progress to Qualifier 2.
Qualifier 2 is set for 29 May at the same venue in New Chandigarh. This match will pit the loser of Qualifier 1 against the winner of the Eliminator, determining the final team to contest the championship. The structure ensures that the top-ranked teams have a pathway to the final without the risk of immediate elimination after their first knockout match.
The IPL 2026 final is scheduled for 31 May at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. All playoff matches, from Qualifier 1 through to the final, are scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM IST. The season, which is broadcast on JioHotstar in India and various international platforms, will conclude with this championship match.
Gujarat Titans’ recent form provides context for their standing, having recently defeated Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad. Despite losing captain Shubman Gill early in the innings, the Titans chased down a target of 163/9, with Suryansh Shedge contributing a rapid 57 off 29 balls for the opposition. This victory reinforced their position among the qualified teams.
With the league stage nearing its end, the specific matchups for Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 remain contingent on the final league standings. The identity of the fourth qualifying team will be determined by the outcomes of the remaining league fixtures, adding uncertainty to the bracket before the knockout stages fully unfold.
