Insta360 launches Mic Pro with triple-mic array and customisable E Ink display
The new Mic Pro transmitters offer up to 30 hours of battery life and direct Bluetooth connectivity to smartphones and cameras, priced from $99.99 for a single unit or $329.99 for the full kit.

Insta360 has officially launched its wireless Mic Pro system, a move that expands the action camera manufacturer’s hardware portfolio beyond visual capture into dedicated audio solutions. Initially revealed at the NAB 2026 trade show last month, the new system introduces transmitters equipped with a three-microphone array and a 1.22-inch colour E Ink display, marking a significant departure from the company’s previous Mic Air model in both form factor and functionality.
The transmitters are noticeably larger than existing wireless microphones to accommodate the dual upgrades. The E Ink screen, which is six-colour and round, allows users to customise the device with logos, names, or images. Crucially, the display retains the image even when the device is powered off, providing a persistent visual identifier for users managing multiple units simultaneously.
Audio capture is handled by the triple-microphone array, which works in conjunction with audio processing software to emulate different pickup patterns. The system can switch between shotgun mode for camera-mounted recording, cardioid mode for voiceovers, and figure-8 mode to capture audio from both front and rear during conversations. This versatility aims to address the varied needs of content creators who require different audio profiles for different shooting scenarios.
Each transmitter includes 32GB of internal storage to record a stereo audio backup, ensuring data is preserved even if the connection to the primary recording device is lost. Battery life is estimated at up to 10 hours per charge, with the included charging case extending total usage to 30 hours. The transmitters support Bluetooth connectivity for direct pairing with smartphones and Insta360 cameras, including the X5, Go Ultra, and Ace Pro 2 models.
For broader compatibility, the system includes a wireless receiver that connects via USB-C or audio cables to most other devices. Insta360 is pricing individual transmitters at $99.99, while the complete kit, which contains two transmitters, a receiver, and the charging case, is available for $329.99. The launch follows the company's strategy of integrating complementary accessories to support its ecosystem of action cameras.
