Indie games roundup spans major launch, expansion and showcase dates

Engadget’s 26 September roundup covers new and upcoming indie games alongside showcases and developer submission dates. The line-up ranges from Remedy Entertainment’s Control Resonant to smaller projects and a planned expansion for Ball x Pit.

Control Resonant is listed at $60 on Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox platforms, with Mac versions planned for later this year. The sequel to Control features Dylan Faden, open-world exploration and melee combat. Engadget identifies Remedy as an independent studio despite the game’s larger budget.

Stick It to the Stickman left early access this week. The satirical brawler, published by Devolver Digital, is listed at $12, with a 50 per cent discount through 1 October. Other featured games include Doggy Don’t Care and Video Game Menu: The Game.

The Risen Ballbylon expansion for Ball x Pit is due on 12 November at $7. It is set to add eight characters, 24 balls, more than 45 passive abilities, and four levels with new bosses and enemies.

Engadget also lists Virtue and a Sledgehammer for 27 October at $15 and Laser Guy for March 2027. The Game Devs of Color expo featured more than 60 games, while Steam’s Mexican Entertainment System and Serbian Games Week events run through 28 September.

Day of the Devs submissions for its next showcase close on 28 September. The showcase is scheduled for 9 December.
