Hoto expands modular toolkit with rapid-heating I-A06 cordless soldering iron
The $79.99 device heats to over 200C in three seconds, offering 60W cordless or 140W plugged-in performance within Hoto’s stacking magnetic ecosystem.
Hoto has introduced the I-A06 Cordless Soldering Iron, marking its first entry into the soldering category within its modular Snapbloq toolkit line. The device is designed to integrate with the company’s existing ecosystem, which allows users to assemble custom toolboxes by stacking magnetic cases and tools together.
The I-A06 is engineered for rapid thermal performance, heating to just over 200 degrees Celsius in approximately three seconds. It provides an adjustable temperature range spanning from 100 to 450 degrees Celsius, supported by customizable presets that enable users to jump quickly to specific heat settings.
Power delivery is managed by an internal 2,000mAh rechargeable battery. When operating cordlessly, the tool outputs up to 60W of power. However, when connected to a power source, the output increases to 140W, ensuring that functionality is not compromised when higher thermal capacity is required.
The physical design of the I-A06 is noticeably thicker than competing portable units such as iFixit’s FixHub Smart Soldering Iron or Pine 64’s Pinecil. This increased bulk is attributed to the housing for the internal battery, which distinguishes it from slimmer, often lower-capacity alternatives in the market.
Hoto is offering the I-A06 as a standalone tool for $79.99. The full kit, priced at $99.99, includes the iron along with a C245 knife tip and additional attachments suitable for tasks such as wood burning. The accompanying carrying case features a pop-up stand, providing a dedicated location to rest the hot tip during use.
