Hidden Folks 2 set for early 2027 release on PC and mobile
Developers confirm the interactive hidden object title will launch in the first few months of next year, with a potential Nintendo Switch version dependent on market demand.

Developers have confirmed that Hidden Folks 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 2017 interactive hidden object game, is scheduled for release in the first few months of 2027. The announcement was made during the Wholesome Direct showcase at Summer Game Fest 2026, an event that has established itself as a counterpoint to high-budget blockbuster presentations by highlighting indie and cozy titles.
The new title will launch on PC via Steam and itch.io, as well as on mobile platforms through the App Store and Google Play Store. A Nintendo Switch version is currently under consideration, though the team noted that a release on the console is contingent on future demand.
True to the original, the game retains the distinctive hand-drawn black-and-white art style and interactive sound design that defined the first release. The developers emphasised that the sequel continues the series' philosophy of offering pressure-free exploration, focusing on little stories scattered throughout each landscape without time limits or scoring mechanics.
According to a Steam post from the team, the sequel features completely new themes and areas, alongside improved graphical quality. Updates also include a second visual clue system that does not rely on text, new mouth-made sounds, and various quality-of-life improvements.
The announcement comes amidst a broader industry trend where indie and cozy games are gaining significant traction. The Wholesome Direct showcase presented over 50 such titles, contrasting with the typical festival focus on major releases. This shift aligns with recent market movements, including Spry Fox’s return to independent ownership and its upcoming self-published release of Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit in July.
While the release window is targeted for early 2027, no specific month or day has been provided. The developers have not yet confirmed the exact timeline for the potential Switch port, leaving that aspect of the launch strategy open to market conditions.
