Harris leads Notre Dame Prep’s unbeaten start
The sophomore has 870 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns as the Lancers open the season 3-0.

Notre Dame Prep has started its season with three wins, led by sophomore running back Ja’cari Harris, who has rushed for 870 yards and 11 touchdowns on 60 carries.
Harris ran for 344 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries in a 26-7 win over Brookfield. In the season opener, he recorded 287 yards and six touchdowns in a 57-21 victory over Bunnell.
Coach John Johnson said Harris shed 20 pounds in the off-season and had improved his mobility. Johnson said the change had made him a more dynamic runner, able to make moves as well as break tackles.
Harris credited Notre Dame Prep’s veteran offensive line for helping him find openings. The line includes seniors Elijah and Eric Jennings, Mike Fields, Evan Konstantinis and Tristan Parker.
Johnson said college coaches often ask about Harris, though offers are likely to come later because he is a sophomore. Harris said he hopes to play college football and aims to reach the NFL.
