Hampton will visit Maryland in a Week 1 college football fixture at 8:00 p.m. ET on 5 September 2026. The game will be played at SECU Stadium in College Park, Maryland.

The Pirates enter the meeting 1–0 after a 45–0 win over UVA-Lynchburg, according to Fox Sports. The trip to Maryland presents a substantially stronger test of Hampton’s early-season form.

DraftKings lists Maryland as a 45.5-point favourite, with the total set at 57.5 points. Betting lines may change before kickoff and do not determine the result.

Fox Sports reports that Maryland quarterback Washington has 2,963 career passing yards and 17 touchdowns. The source does not provide his first name or confirm whether he will start.

The matchup also brings contrasting statistical markers from last season. Maryland recorded two forced fumbles in the 2025 regular season, reportedly the fewest among NCAAFB teams with at least 10 games played. Hampton recorded eight passing touchdowns, reported by Fox Sports as the sixth-fewest among teams with at least 250 attempts.
