Giants’ unofficial Week 1 chart reshapes key roles before Cowboys clash
New York lists Deonte Banks ahead of Paulson Adebo, Chauncey Golston as a defensive-line starter and Darnell Mooney as its No. 2 receiver.
The New York Giants have released an unofficial depth chart for their Week 1 Sunday night game against the Dallas Cowboys, outlining several changes across the defence, receiving group and special teams.
Deonte Banks is listed ahead of Paulson Adebo at cornerback, while Chauncey Golston is named as a starting defensive lineman ahead of Darius Alexander. The chart places Golston alongside Shelby Harris and D.J. Reader on the interior.
Darnell Mooney is listed as the No. 2 wide receiver behind Malik Nabers following the Giants’ decision to cut Darius Slayton. Malachi Fields and Odell Beckham Jr. are listed as the backups to Nabers and Mooney.
Mooney has previously recorded 1,055 receiving yards in 2021 with the Chicago Bears and 992 yards in 2024 with the Atlanta Falcons. Slayton recorded no more than 573 receiving yards in either of his previous two seasons with the Giants.
The chart also assigns special-teams roles to players outside the main starting groups. Practice-squad member Braxton Berrios is listed as KR4 and PR2, while Banks is KR1, with Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy Jr. behind him as KR2 and KR3.
Jevon Holland, listed as the starting free safety, is also named PR1 ahead of Berrios and practice-squad receiver Charlie Jones. Yahoo Sports reported that Berrios could be among the practice-squad elevations, although the material does not establish whether he will be promoted to the 53-man roster.
The Giants stressed that the chart is unofficial, meaning the listed roles may change before or during the game.
