Genesis unveils production GV90 electric flagship with retractable OLED screen
The luxury brand has translated its Neolum concept into a production vehicle featuring pillarless coach doors and a 123.5 kWh battery pack, though US pricing remains unannounced.

Genesis has unveiled the production version of its GV90 electric flagship, a vehicle derived from the Neolum concept shown a couple of years ago. The launch lineup focuses on a four-seat variant and the high-end GV90 Neolum, which faithfully translates the concept’s design, including pillarless coach doors referred to as the Neolum Arch Gate. Genesis stated it has engineered these doors to meet the safety requirements necessary for volume production.
The vehicle is built on the 800 V E-GMP platform, which is shared with the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9. While a three-row, seven-seat GV90 will be part of the range and is expected to be the most common variant, the initial focus is on the premium configurations. All GV90 models include the world’s first roof airbag, part of a 12-airbag safety system designed to deploy in the event of a rollover.
Inside, the cabin features a retractable OLED infotainment screen that retracts 3.5 inches (90 mm) into the dashboard when driving. Genesis notes the display is 1.7 times larger when extended, aligning with a "living room on wheels" theme. The audio experience is enhanced by a 25-speaker 3D sound system developed with Bang & Olufsen.
Powertrain specifications include a dual-motor system producing a combined 657 hp (490 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. The front drive unit delivers 322 hp (240 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm), while the rear unit provides 335 hp (250 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm). The vehicle is equipped with a 123.5 kWh battery pack, offering approximately 310 miles of range in the seven-seater configuration with smaller wheels.
Fast charging capabilities allow for a 10 to 80 per cent charge in as little as 22 minutes using a 350 kW DC charger. This performance is consistent with other 800 V E-GMP electric vehicles from the Hyundai Motor Group.
US pricing and specific release dates have not been announced. The range figure of 310 miles is specified for the seven-seater variant with smaller wheels, whereas launch images depict 23- and 24-inch wheels, which may impact actual range figures.
