Google may extend its Gemini “Call for Me” feature beyond calls to businesses, according to Android Authority, which reported finding a “Gemini Calling” introductory screen in an Android app teardown.

Examples shown on the screen included asking Gemini to tell someone the caller would be 15 minutes late, or to ask whether they were coming to dinner. They suggest the feature could handle short, message-like calls rather than full conversations.

Android Authority also reported finding granular controls for Gemini actions in individual apps, including apparent settings for phone-call permissions. The controls could let users choose which capabilities Gemini can access.

Neither the calling expansion nor the permission settings have been confirmed by Google. The teardown does not establish that either change will become available, and Google may not release them.
