New England Patriots rookie Gabe Jacas recorded his first NFL sack in his regular-season debut, during the team’s 13–10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
According to Yahoo Sports, Jacas beat Seahawks right tackle Abraham Lucas to sack quarterback Drew Lock midway through the second quarter. The former Fort Pierce Central and University of Illinois player finished the game with three tackles and a team-high two tackles for loss across 19 defensive snaps.
Jacas also played on special teams and was penalised for a block in the back during a New England kickoff return.
New England selected Jacas with the 55th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. He reportedly signed a four-year, $8.6 million contract on 25 July after recovering from left-knee surgery.
The Patriots are scheduled to host the Pittsburgh Steelers on 20 September.
