FromSoftware's Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods will have a closed network test soon
Multiplayer action title set for summer beta ahead of later 2026 release

FromSoftware has confirmed that its upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods, will undergo a closed network test this summer. The announcement was made during Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct presentation, marking the latest milestone for the action title as it approaches its scheduled release later this year.

The game is designed as a multiplayer experience where players can fight with and against up to seven other participants. According to details revealed in a recent trailer, the gameplay centres on blood-based powers that transform both the character and combat style, with competitors vying for a prize designated as the First Blood.

While the closed network test provides a concrete next step for the title, a specific launch date for The Duskbloods remains unconfirmed. The studio has not yet disclosed the exact dates for the upcoming beta test, nor has it provided a precise window for the general release beyond the current year.

The announcement arrives during a period of significant software reveals for the Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside The Duskbloods, Nintendo has confirmed release dates for other major titles, including the Switch 2 port of FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, which is scheduled for 28 August.

Further confirming the console’s software slate, Orbitals is set to launch on 3 September, followed by Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave on 17 September. These dates establish a busy autumn for the platform, with FromSoftware’s portfolio featuring prominently in the near-term lineup.
