Florida State among top three choices for Georgia safety recruit Kamarion Johnson
Kamarion Johnson, a three-star prospect from Clinch County High School, has identified Florida State University as one of his leading options, ahead of scheduled official visits to Florida and Cincinnati.

Florida State University has been named among the top three institutions for 2027 three-star safety recruit Kamarion Johnson, according to an announcement made by the prospect via social media on May 27. Johnson, a junior from Clinch County High School in Homerville, Georgia, confirmed the development as he prepares for a series of official campus visits later this month.
The recruitment timeline for Johnson includes a visit to the Florida Gators on June 4, followed by a trip to Florida State on June 12, and a final scheduled visit to the Cincinnati Bearcats on June 19. These three programs represent the elite tier of his current list, a significant development for the Seminoles who extended a scholarship offer to Johnson only on April 11, following his initial trip to Tallahassee.
Johnson arrives in the recruitment cycle with approximately 15 scholarship offers and is ranked as the No. 438 player nationally and the No. 39 safety by the 247Sports composite. Within his home state, he is considered the No. 45 prospect. His athletic profile is defined by versatility; as a junior last season, he recorded 29 tackles, three tackles for loss, and five interceptions as a safety.
His contributions extended beyond the defensive line, where he recorded 38 receptions for 828 yards and 11 scores as a wide receiver. On special teams, Johnson demonstrated playmaking ability with two punt return touchdowns and one kickoff return for a score.
Florida State’s interest in Johnson aligns with its broader strategy to bolster its 2027 safety class. The program already holds commitments from four-star recruit Mekhi Williams and three-star Jemari Foreman, positioning the Seminoles to add depth and talent to the secondary for the upcoming cycle.
