David Folorunsho, a five-star defensive lineman ranked No. 3 nationally and No. 37 overall by Rivals, has confirmed that he will publicly announce his college football commitment on 15 May 2026. The prospect, who plays high school football for St. Patrick High School in Chicago, Illinois, intends to make the announcement live on the Rivals YouTube channel.
At 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds, Folorunsho is currently weighing offers from five major programmes: the University of Georgia, University of Notre Dame, University of Miami, Texas Tech University, and the University of Michigan. While the final destination remains undecided, the prospect is actively evaluating these top-tier options as the recruitment cycle nears its conclusion.
Geographical proximity appears to be a significant factor in the prospect's deliberations, with Michigan and Notre Dame located closest to Chicago. Consequently, Rivals' prediction model currently favours a commitment to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, citing this logistical advantage over other contenders.
However, the University of Georgia remains a formidable competitor in this recruitment landscape. Under head coach Kirby Smart, the Bulldogs have established a historical track record of securing elite defensive talent, including eight five-star defensive line and end commitments in the 2016 class alone. The program has maintained at least one five-star commitment in eight of Smart's 10 enrolled recruiting classes.
Despite the historical strength of Georgia's defensive line recruiting, their current class ranking has dropped to No. 18 following a flip by four-star cornerback Jerry Outhouse to UCLA. The Bulldogs still possess significant depth with five-star running back Kemon Spell and cornerback Donte Wright, though another top talent would be required to propel the class back into the top-10.
