Five NFL Teams Tie Record With 0–4 Starts
Five teams have lost their first four games, matching a league record last reached in 2019. Two made the playoffs last season.

Five NFL teams are winless after four games, tying the league record for the most teams to start a season 0–4. An Associated Press report carried by Fox Sports says it is the seventh time the league has had five teams at this point, and the first since 2019.
Tampa Bay, Houston and the Los Angeles Chargers are among the teams named. Houston and the Chargers reached the playoffs last season, making this the third time, according to the report, that two previous-season playoff teams have both opened 0–4.
Tampa Bay has lost four games by one score. Houston led in the final two minutes in three of its four defeats, including a 34–30 loss to Dallas after the Cowboys scored the winning touchdown with 40 seconds remaining.
The report also identifies Miami and Tennessee among the winless teams. Miami is rebuilding and carries a reported record $184 million in salary-cap dead-money charges; Tennessee followed two consecutive three-win seasons.
Three teams, including Kansas City and Minnesota, have started 4–0, the report says. Both made that start after missing the playoffs in 2025.
