Ferrari unveils Luce, its first electric vehicle, in €550,000 debut
The four-door, five-seat model features 1,035 horsepower and a button-heavy interior, with pricing set for Italy but US market details yet to be confirmed.

Ferrari has officially unveiled the Luce, marking its debut into the fully electric vehicle market. The four-door, five-seat model represents a significant design shift, featuring a minimalist exterior and an interior characterised by a high density of physical buttons. Design direction for the project was led by Jony Ive and Marc Newson through their collective, LoveFrom, who were involved from the outset. The vehicle is powered by four electric motors generating 1,035 horsepower and carries a starting price of €550,000 in Italy, making it the most expensive Ferrari currently available.
This launch follows months of teasers and builds upon Ferrari’s previous forays into four-door configurations. While the collaboration between Ferrari and LoveFrom on the interior was known earlier in the year, the manufacturer confirmed that the design collective was permitted to define the design direction of the project from the outset, extending their involvement beyond the cabin to the exterior. The Luce is notable as Ferrari’s second four-door car and its first five-seat model.
According to reporting from Engadget, Tim Stevens provided firsthand impressions of the vehicle, noting that it feels more like an SUV than a traditional sports car. However, Stevens was unable to conduct a test drive or verify the full functionality of the interior controls. The vehicle’s sound profile amplifies vibrations from the rear motors rather than relying on fully synthesized audio, a departure from many other EVs.
The Luce starts at €550,000 in Italy, making it the most expensive Ferrari to date. No US price has been set at this time. The designation of the Luce as the most expensive Ferrari is based on the starting price in Italy, and final pricing with options may vary.
Ferrari’s entry into the EV segment with the Luce signals a strategic pivot for the luxury manufacturer. The collaboration with LoveFrom underscores a commitment to distinct design language as it navigates the transition to electrification. Investors and analysts will be watching closely to see how the Luce performs in the high-end luxury market and whether it maintains the brand’s exclusivity in an increasingly competitive electric vehicle landscape.
