Ferguson reportedly set for second stint with England women

Matt Ferguson is set to rejoin John Mitchell’s England women’s coaching staff, according to The Independent. The report says he will serve as an assistant specialising in scrum and contact areas. The Rugby Football Union has not announced the appointment in the supplied material.
Ferguson previously coached England’s forwards from 2015 to 2018. He has spent the past year as a transition coach at Harlequins, after seven seasons at Northampton.
His return would add to a staff being expanded during the WXV Global Series. It follows Shaun Edwards’s recruitment as a consultant focused on defence.
The report says England are scheduled to play Canada twice in October, then face the United States on 30 October. It does not confirm Ferguson’s appointment through an RFU statement.
