OT Storm Norton lands on Falcons’ PUP list
Atlanta adds Wanya Morris from Kansas City as offensive line reshuffle continues

The Atlanta Falcons have placed offensive tackle Storm Norton on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, a designation that renders him ineligible for the start of the 2025 season. The announcement follows the team’s recent trade for offensive tackle Wanya Morris from the Kansas City Chiefs, a move that appears to address depth at the position as the roster takes shape.

Norton missed the entire 2025 campaign following ankle surgery performed last summer. Although he was designated to return from Injured Reserve in October, he was never activated. The specific medical details regarding his current placement on the PUP list have not been disclosed by the organisation, though the timing aligns with his prolonged absence from the field.

The acquisition of Morris comes as the Falcons navigate a significant transition at the right tackle position. Kaleb McGary, who held the role for several seasons after being selected in the first round of the 2019 draft, announced his retirement this offseason at the age of 31. With McGary’s departure and Norton’s unavailability, the depth chart has been streamlined.

Norton, who signed with Atlanta off the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad in 2023, has made three starts in 14 games for the team. His current status leaves Jack Nelson as the only other right tackle listed on the current depth chart. Nelson played in 10 games for the Falcons last season and will likely see increased responsibility as the team finalises its roster ahead of the season opener.

The Falcons’ decision to trade for Morris while placing Norton on the PUP list suggests a strategic adjustment to the offensive line structure. The organisation has not provided further details on the timeline for Norton’s return or the long-term plans for the right tackle position, but the addition of Morris provides immediate depth during this transitional period.
