Logistics provider EXPD eyes $1.64 EPS forecast amid strong stock performance and mixed Wall Street sentiment

Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. is scheduled to release its second-quarter 2026 earnings on Tuesday, 4 August, before market open. The Bellevue, Washington-based logistics services provider, which operates across the Americas and internationally, is expected to report diluted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.64. This figure represents a 22.4% increase from the $1.34 recorded in the same quarter last year.

The company has a history of exceeding market expectations, having beaten EPS estimates in each of the previous four quarters. This trend was evident in the first quarter of 2026, where the company reported revenue of $2.8 billion and adjusted EPS of $1.71, both surpassing Wall Street forecasts. Following that release on 5 May, the stock rose 9.6%.

For the full fiscal year 2026, analysts project EPS of $6.71, marking a 12.8% increase from fiscal 2025. Looking further ahead, EPS is expected to rise by approximately 2.1% year over year to $6.85 in fiscal 2027. The logistics firm, which offers air and ocean freight consolidation and forwarding services, currently holds a market capitalisation of $23.9 billion.

Despite the strong earnings trajectory, the stock has seen significant appreciation, rising 60.5% over the past 52 weeks. This performance has outpaced the S&P 500 Index’s 18.4% rise and the State Street Industrial Select Sector SPDR ETF’s 18.2% gain during the same period. However, this rally has led to divergent views among investors and analysts regarding future growth potential.

Analyst sentiment remains mixed, with an overall 'Hold' rating among the 17 analysts covering the stock. The breakdown includes four 'Strong Buy' recommendations, eight 'Hold' ratings, and five 'Strong Sell' recommendations. The average analyst price target stands at $162, which is below current trading levels, although the Street-high price target of $202 suggests a 10.5% upside from current levels.
