Everton have emerged as a primary suitor for Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus, though the club is reportedly unwilling to meet the Gunners’ £20 million asking price. According to reports from Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, the Toffees are keen on securing the Brazilian forward but intend to negotiate a significantly reduced fee, citing concerns over Jesus’ recent injury record.

The valuation dispute highlights the complex decision Arsenal must now make regarding the player’s future. Jesus remains under contract at the Emirates Stadium until the end of the current season, creating a critical juncture for the club this summer. While the £45 million signing from Manchester City in 2022 was instrumental in ending the club’s 22-year Premier League title drought, his subsequent production has drawn scrutiny.

Across four seasons in North London, Jesus has recorded 32 goal involvements in the Premier League and 11 in the Champions League. However, his availability has been compromised by significant physical setbacks, including a knee injury in December 2022 that sidelined him for 100 days, and a cruciate ligament tear in 2025 that kept him out for nearly a year.

Everton manager David Moyes is currently utilising Beto and Thierno Barry in the attacking line, with the pair combining for 18 goals in the Premier League last season. The club’s reluctance to meet the £20 million valuation stems from a desire to mitigate risk given Jesus’ injury history, with sources indicating they will only proceed on a cut-price deal.

Interest in the six-time Premier League winner extends beyond the Premier League. Juventus, AC Milan, and Palmeiras are also reportedly lurking in the race for his services. Jesus’ omission from Brazil’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup may further influence his desire to move, potentially opening the door for a transfer away from North London.
