London-based tech media outlet moves to Kings Cross studio as investors back rapid ecosystem coverage

The London-based European Technology Network (ETN) has secured $1.6 million in seed funding, marking a significant expansion for the live-streamed tech news programme. The investment round was led by Powerhouse Capital, with participation from Axel Springer SE, LadBible, and angel investors from OpenAI and DeepMind. The capital will facilitate a move to a new studio in Kings Cross, an expansion of the eight-person team, the launch of a newsletter, and an increase in broadcast frequency from two to five days a week.

Founded by Luke Knight and Ronan Chambers, ETN launched last October to address what the founders describe as a gap in the industry’s ability to cover the pace of the European tech ecosystem. The show, which streams on X and YouTube, has accumulated more than 5 million views. The expansion follows a surge in interest, with the network receiving approximately 70 guest pitches weekly, prompting the decision to scale operations to accommodate the volume of demand.

The new five-day format will air from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. UK time, featuring breakdowns of trending stories and guest interviews. Upcoming appearances include George Robson, a partner at Sequoia, and Rishi Sunak, the former UK Prime Minister and senior advisor to Anthropic and Microsoft. The network has already hosted figures such as Kanishka Narayan, the UK’s first AI Minister, and representatives from companies including Synthesia, Legora, and Granola.

Chambers noted that London startups have raised $14.7 billion so far this year, with six companies securing more than $500 million each, including Wayve, Superintelligence, and ElevenLabs. This rapid capital flow has driven the need for a media outlet that can operate at the same speed as the market. The expanded schedule will also introduce debates, roundtables, and a pitching session format to foster greater discourse around venture capital and artificial intelligence in Europe.

ETN has established itself as a key stop on the press tour for European startups, broadcasting from international venues such as the Panathenaea Conference in Athens and the RAISE AI Summit in Paris. The network’s revenue is generated through advertising, with current sponsors including prediction market Polymarket, blockchain company Base, and AI audio firm ElevenLabs. The founders position ETN as a complementary force to traditional media, aiming to document the region’s technological successes and encourage entrepreneurial ambition across the continent.
