Epic Games Confirms Overwatch Crossover for Fortnite on 14 May
The event coincides with the 10th anniversary of Blizzard’s Overwatch, featuring map elements, new weapons, and a Porsche Cayenne EV SUV in the upcoming Fortnite season.

Epic Games has officially confirmed that a selection of Overwatch characters will appear in Fortnite as cosmetic skins starting on 14 May. The confirmed roster includes Mercy, Tracer, Genji, and a mech-less version of D.va. The announcement follows earlier leaks from community users ShiinaBR and FireMonkey, who had previously detailed the nature of the partnership before the official reveal.
The collaboration extends beyond simple character skins. According to reports, the heroes will be available in a bundle that includes Overwatch-themed emotes, four pickaxes, a glider, and additional cosmetic items. The integration also introduces gameplay elements, with Overwatch-inspired weapons and Tracer’s signature Blink ability and pistols being added to the Fortnite experience.
Further expanding the crossover, parts of the fan-favourite King's Row map are being introduced to the Fortnite island. The event also features non-player characters (NPCs) representing other heroes, although their specific identities have not yet been disclosed by Epic Games. Additionally, a Porsche Cayenne EV SUV featuring hero decals will be included in the game.
The release of the Overwatch content aligns with the 10th anniversary of Blizzard’s title, which debuted this month. Blizzard is marking the occasion with a celebration running from 12 May to 1 June, offering limited-time modes, 21 exclusive Launch Hero Skins, and 15 Anniversary Loot Boxes. The developer is also focused on a broader expansion strategy, with plans to add 10 new heroes to Overwatch in 2026, the highest number introduced in a single year since the game's launch in 2016.
While the full details of the collaboration remain partially unrevealed, the event highlights a continuing trend of cross-franchise partnerships in the gaming industry. This follows recent announcements regarding other major titles, such as a Halo game coming to PS5. The Overwatch anniversary event also saw recent developer adjustments, including the restoration of perks to the Mystery Heroes mode during the latest mid-season update.
