According to the DFB, no invitations were issued for such a gathering, and the federation clarified that operational details regarding the potential appointment remain under discussion. This official position undermines previous claims, including those reported by news agency dpa, which suggested the meeting was intended to formalise the transition of leadership.
The denial introduces uncertainty into the timeline for Klopp’s introduction to the role. Prior speculation had widely suggested that the 59-year-old would be presented to the public on Friday, following the signing of a contract extending until 2030. The DFB’s clarification indicates that this schedule is no longer guaranteed, leaving the timing of any official announcement in doubt.
Despite the procedural setbacks, the trajectory of the recruitment process appears consistent with previous indications.
