Dave Allen to face Filip Hrgovic in heavyweight bout at Doncaster Eco-Power Stadium
The main event is scheduled for Saturday, 16 May, with live streaming available exclusively via DAZN.

A heavyweight boxing contest between Dave Allen and Filip Hrgovic is scheduled to take place at the Eco-Power Stadium in Doncaster on Saturday, 16 May. The bout, which marks a significant test for both competitors, will be broadcast live exclusively on the DAZN platform. While specific start times for the main card remain unconfirmed, the event is expected to commence around 7pm BST, with ring walks anticipated to follow at approximately 10pm BST.
Dave Allen, known by the nickname 'Doncaster De La Hoya', enters the fight following a period of career resurgence. After suffering a decision loss to Johnny Fisher in 2024, Allen avenged the result with a stoppage win in a rematch. Although he was later outpointed by Arslanbek Makhmudov in October, he secured a first-round victory over Karim Berredjem in February, setting up this upcoming encounter in his hometown.
Opposing him is Filip Hrgovic, who has enjoyed an encouraging 2025 campaign with victories against Joe Joyce and David Adeleye. The Croatian fighter, however, suffered his first defeat via a doctor-enforced stoppage loss to Daniel Dubois in 2024. Hrgovic is now seeking a return to the world-title picture, requiring him to overcome Allen to achieve that goal.
The undercard features several title fights, most notably a bout for the British and Commonwealth lightweight titles between Louie O'Doherty and Ahmed Hatim. Other scheduled contests include a lightweight match between Michael Gomez Jr and Lee McGregor, a super-lightweight fight between Maxi Hughes and Lewis Sylvester, and a super-flyweight clash between John Tom Varey and Stephen Jackson.
Additional cards include a super-lightweight bout between Kian Hamilton and Les Urry, a featherweight contest between Leighton Birchall and Leonardo Baez, and a super-welterweight fight between Carl Fail and Dean Sutherland. The welterweight card features Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev against an opponent currently listed as TBA.
Viewers wishing to watch the event will need a subscription to DAZN, with plans starting at £15.99 per month. The Independent notes that while the article may contain affiliate links, the content remains independent of such revenue streams.
