Cold Iron Studios has officially confirmed the existence of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, a sequel to the 2021 co-op shooter that was originally developed by the same team. The announcement marks the first concrete confirmation of the project, moving beyond previous teases seen in promotional material for Alien: Isolation. The title is scheduled to arrive this summer, timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the 1986 blockbuster film Aliens.
The sequel promises to expand the core gameplay loop by increasing the player cap from three to four participants. This adjustment allows for a larger squad to engage against the franchise's signature Xenomorphs, which the announcement describes as stalking corridors, ambushing from shadows, and swarming in overwhelming numbers.
