Beverage giant assesses partial stake sale as preparations continue for Bombay and National Stock Exchange debut

The Coca-Cola Company announced on 1 June that it is exploring a potential public listing in India of Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings Pvt. Ltd. (HCCH), the parent entity of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. The multinational beverage manufacturer is currently assessing the sale of a portion of its shareholding in HCCH to facilitate this transaction, which is projected to take place in 2027.

Preparations are underway for the potential listing on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The company indicated that the listing would serve as a critical milestone to complete the refranchising of HCCH, positioning the unit to benefit from the broader Indian market. However, the transaction remains subject to prevailing market conditions and applicable regulatory approvals.

This development follows a significant ownership change in July 2025, when The Coca-Cola Company completed a transaction allowing the Jubilant Bhartia Group to acquire a 40% stake in HCCH. The Jubilant Bhartia Group is an Indian family-owned conglomerate with diverse sector presence and established relationships with several multinational companies.

The Coca-Cola Company, which manufactures and sells various non-alcoholic beverages globally, stated that the specific portion of shareholding to be sold has not yet been disclosed. While the 2027 timeline is the current target, the company noted that the date is not fixed and depends on the successful navigation of regulatory and market requirements.

HCCH continues to operate as the parent company for Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd., managing the company’s operations within the Indian market. The potential public offering represents a strategic evolution in the company’s local structure, building upon the foundational changes initiated by the recent acquisition by the Jubilant Bhartia Group.
