Clippers survive late Warriors rally in preseason opener

The Los Angeles Clippers beat the Golden State Warriors 104–101 in Hawaii on Sunday in the teams’ first preseason game of the 2026 NBA season, according to Yahoo Sports.

The Clippers built a lead of as many as 13 points, but Golden State narrowed the gap to four entering the fourth quarter. Malevy Leones scored eight points in the period as the Warriors mounted a comeback.

Golden State moved in front with fewer than 30 seconds remaining. Rookie Keaton Wagler answered with a jumper to put the Clippers back ahead, and Los Angeles held on for the win.

Charles Bassey led the Warriors with 12 points and eight rebounds in 16 minutes. Stephen Curry scored 10 points in 13 minutes, while rookie Yaxel Lendeborg recorded nine rebounds and three assists in 19 minutes.

Yahoo Sports reported that Golden State is scheduled to host the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center on Tuesday at 7 p.m. PT.
